Transition year and 5th year students were excited to welcome Commandant Brian Walsh, aide-de-camp to President Michael D Higgins to their careers class earlier this term. The army officer who has served several peacekeeping missions in his career to date spoke to students about the work of the Irish defence forces and of his experience of a variety of roles within the Defence forces. As Aide-de-Camp to President Michael D. Higgins, Comdt. Walsh participates at ceremonial functions and is typically the foremost personal aide to the President. Comdt. Walsh shared valuable information about army careers with our students and participated in a questions and answers session.
Our students thoroughly enjoyed the visit.
